Shredders Turn Back Cleveland, 5-4
|
Cleveland left fielder Danny Rodríguez had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 5-4, to Hollywood at Factory of Sadness. Rodríguez went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Nobuhito Tanaka picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Yan van der Meijden was tagged with the loss. Hollywood has run its win streak to 4 in a row.
Hollywood used the clutch hitting of Ramón Rodríguez to capture the win. The right fielder drilled a grand slam home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Shredders ahead, 5-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Hollywood manager Bill Cheese.
