With first baseman Tony Randolph leading the charge, the Plymouth Rocks defeated the Nolensville Knights, 6-4, at Plymouth Quarry. Randolph, who is tied for 4th in the SAAA with a .487 on-base percentage, was 2 for 3 with a double and 2 walks. Shem Burkholder got the win, improving to 3-0. He pitched 5.1 innings, giving up 9 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 2 and walking 1. Earning his 7th save of the year was Colton Moonfall.
In the bottom of the third inning, designated hitter Jon Ellender came through big-time for the Rocks. With Plymouth trailing 4-2, he belted a 2-run home run.
Randolph told the Plymouth Daily: "I was born for the big stage."
Plymouth improves to 11-8 as they look to defend their championship.
