Supernovas Fall Short at Tortolita
Tortolita beat Scranton at Drummers Ballpark, escaping with a 7-6 win. The win in large part was due to shortstop Fernando Rincón, who earned player of the game honors. He was 4 for 6 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs. The win was credited to Jerry Hamm in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Clancy Daly took the loss. Losses have been few and far between for the Supernovas, who are now 11-4.

Late in the game, first baseman John Wilder had a big at-bat for Tortolita. In the bottom of the 14th, he hit a run-scoring double off Bligh Madris. The play gave the Drummers a 7-6 lead.

Rincón called winning a team effort. "It's not the same guy every time," he said. "It's the sum of the parts."
