Drummers Top Lake Monsters in Extras
|
Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Tortolita Drummers got the win.
The Tortolita Drummers overcame a good performance by Vermont third baseman Meshach Ashpenaz to knock off Vermont, 4-3, at Monster Field. Ashpenaz was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. The Drummers, now 8-3, have hit the ground running this season.
Tortolita used the timely hitting of Mason Congdon to capture the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Drummers on top, 3-0. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but he made it count.
"At least I did my job," Congdon said.
