The Jersey City Tritons went down to defeat to Dave McAlear and his Syracuse teammates. The final score was 4-2 in favor of the Starks. McAlear, now 7-8, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 4, walking 0, and allowing 1 earned run. Jeffery Brock earned his 2nd save in 4 chances.
Syracuse used the timely hitting of Mare Riseley to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to put the Starks on top, 3-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
