Victory Over Starks Takes Baton Rouge to 58-38
|
A nice crowd turned out to see the Baton Rouge Brass and Syracuse Starks clash at Stark Stadium.
The Baton Rouge Brass beat the Syracuse Starks, 7-4, at Stark Stadium. Baton Rouge third baseman Luis García earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He was 2-3 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 3 runs. The 9th-place Starks have dropped 4 straight games.
The result might have been different for Baton Rouge, had it not been for Stephen Goldobenko. The left fielder produced a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put the Brass ahead, 2-0. For the game, Goldobenko had 2 doubles and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
