Redlegs Get One-Run Win at Memphis
|
The Sacramento Redlegs did just enough to secure a 5-4 victory over the Memphis Redbirds at Lansing Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Blaine Stottlar, who captured player of the game honors. Stottlar picked up the win for Sacramento, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 2-0. Larry Benítez earned the save, his 12th.
Sacramento left fielder Qian-fu Zhou contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fifth. With two down, he hit a cutter into left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 30th hit of the season and put the Redlegs ahead, 3-1.
In postgame comments to the Sacramento Bulletin, Zhou said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
At 35-48, Sacramento is in 8th place in the Premier AAA.
