Longnecks Score Late to Upend Bronze Sox, 2-1
|
The Bloomington Longnecks eked out a 2-1 win versus the Texas Bronze Sox at Lookouts Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Govaart van Ankeren, who captured player of the game honors. The 4th-place Longnecks lifted their record to 43-37.
Cody Scott had a critical at-bat with one out in the bottom of the eighth. The Bloomington third baseman came through with a run-scoring single to put Bloomington in front, 2-1.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Scott. "And not try to do too much."
