Bronze Sox Get One-Run Win at Bloomington
|
Bloomington pitcher Leon Alfons gave the Bronze Sox all they could handle, but in the end, Texas left Lookouts Ballpark with a 4-3 win. Alfons allowed 1 earned run on 4 hits over 5.1 innings. Tony Torres finished to wrap up his 2nd save. The win puts the Bronze Sox at 38-41, while the Longnecks drop to 42-37.
It could have been a different outcome for Texas, had it not been for Urs van Munster, the 33-year old left fielder . van Munster contributed a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put Texas up, 4-2.
van Munster called the triumph "a good team win."
