Rowbery Hits 2 home runs in Mockingbirds Win
|
The Mississippi Mockingbirds defeated the Cleveland Browns, 7-2. Earning player of the game honors was right fielder Riley Rowbery, who was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Mei Zhào, who went 7.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 7 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 7. His record now stands at 2-4. The Mockingbirds' win now puts them at 22-28.
In the top of the first, Rowbery pounced on a first pitch fastball from Chris Holland and hit a 2-run home run. It put Mississippi on top, 2-0.
