It was a good time at Charleston Armory, where fans came to watch the Portland Evergreens and Charleston Battery get after it.

Charleston second baseman Datu Lesaca made his presence felt in the 7-4 Battery triumph over the Portland Evergreens. Lesaca was 3-5 with 2 doubles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Scott Morrison got credit for the win, improving to 1-6. He allowed 4 runs on 7 hits in 5.2 innings.

The Battery got a big at-bat from designated hitter Júlio Salazar. For the game, Salazar was 1 for 3 with a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 13th hit of the season gave Charleston a 2-1 lead.

"We're feeling good in this clubhouse right now after that one," Salazar told the Charleston Bulletin.

Charleston now has a 5-game win streak.
