Longnecks Losing Streak at 6 After Extra-Inning Loss to Brass
|
Baton Rouge beat Bloomington at Brass Field, eking out a 5-4 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher David Silva, who earned player of the game honors. Reliever Wu-ti Xuan picked up the win. His record improves to 3-0. Jesús Franco took the loss. Bloomington's current losing streak is now 6 games.
Late in the game, catcher Tomislav Jovovich had a big at-bat for Baton Rouge. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single off Jesús Franco. The play gave the Brass a 5-4 lead.
"It was terrific getting this win," Jovovich said. "We put in a lot of work to do it."
