It was a good time at Bronze Sox Park, where fans came to watch the Sacramento Redlegs and Texas Bronze Sox get after it.
The Texas Bronze Sox defeated the Sacramento Redlegs, 5-4, in USPL Triple A action at Bronze Sox Park, with Texas pitcher Earl Hurdle named player of the game. In 7 innings, Hurdle surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 2. He allowed 4 runs. Maverick McNealy recorded his 18th save for Texas.
Texas took a 4-2 lead on Ricardo Mireles's 35th hit of the season. The 2-run single, which Mireles hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Sacramento pitcher Philip Hynes shaking his head.
"My job is to go out and play as hard as I can for the Bronze Sox," said Mireles.
The Redlegs, at 29-35, have lost 4 straight games.
