Blue Sox Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras

Irving Blue Sox starter Steve Young was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Virginia Beach Whales, 3-1. The winner was Irving reliever Lex Janssen, now 2-0. The loser was Javier Iturburua. Irving is 7th in the Silver AA with a record of 12-15.
Irving won the game in the bottom of the 11th inning. With one out and Javier Iturburua on the mound for Virginia Beach, pinch hitter Rick Newell hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Blue Sox fans to their feet.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Newell.
