Disaster Topple Nobles with Late Rally

The Port Royal Disaster took Bakersfield pitcher Hikaru Yamaguchi's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Jerome Grounds. The final score had Port Royal getting past the Nobles, 4-3. Yamaguchi went 7 innings and allowed 1 earned run, striking out 8. Port Royal reliever Joe Louter picked up the win, upping his record to 3-2. Pavle Simic shouldered the loss. With the win, the Disaster improved to 25-23.
Port Royal used the timely hitting of Steve Bock to capture the win. The pinch hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Disaster ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was an important one.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Port Royal manager .
