Riding the 2-hit performance of the speedster Karel van Capelle, the Bloomington Longnecks stopped the Sacramento Redlegs, 7-2. Bloomington goes to 30-15. The win puts them 4 games up in their division.
Bloomington used the timely hitting of Brock Waxley to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Longnecks on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We looked pretty good up and down," said Bloomington manager Coy Knight.
