|
Behind a solid performance from designated hitter Pablo Saavedra, the Lancaster Farmers defeated the Irving Blue Sox, 7-1. Saavedra went 3 for 4 with a triple and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Farmers. Manuel Sánchez picked up the win with 7.2 innings of work. He allowed 1 earned run on 6 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 2. On the season, he is now 3-1. The Blue Sox fall to 7-13 and continue their unimpressive start to the 2041 season.
Saavedra came through with some timely hitting for Lancaster. With the score 1-1 in the bottom of the fourth and one down, Saavedra hit a 3-1 changeup for a run-scoring double. His 2nd double of the season made it 2-1, Lancaster.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Saavedra told the Lancaster Herald.
