Sacramento pitcher Tim Owens did his part in helping his team beat the Port Royal Disaster, 6-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Owens, the winner, moves to 2-3. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 3 walks. Larry Benítez earned the save for Sacramento, his 9th.

Sacramento used the timely hitting of Ji-hyun Yi to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Redlegs on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Yi told the Sacramento Bulletin. "It's as simple as that."

The 6th-place Disaster have dropped 5 straight games.
