Ghosts Come Back Late, Nip Eclipse
|
The Casper Ghosts took Northville pitcher Edwin Meadows's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Old-Timers Park. The final score had Casper getting past the Eclipse, 3-2. Meadows went 7.1 innings and allowed 3 earned runs, striking out 3. Fernando Gonzáles got credit for the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 3 innings. With their winning streak at 5, the Ghosts have raced to a strong start this season.
Had Cam Lumsden not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Lumsden hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Ghosts.
Lumsden told a Casper Herald reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
