Irving got a terrific performance from catcher Martín Muñóz, but it wasn't enough to beat the Atlantic City Sonics. Atlantic City won the Blue Sox Ballpark contest, 7-5. Muñóz was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. Chris Plautz earned the save for Atlantic City, his 2nd of the year. The Blue Sox fall to 4-9 and continue their lackluster start in 2041.

Atlantic City used the clutch hitting of Todd Bonzalez to capture the win. The first baseman drilled a bases-clearing double in the top of the seventh inning to give the Sonics the lead, 6-3. For the game, Bonzalez had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Bonzalez. "And not try to do too much."
