Redlegs Fall Short, 4-3, at Syracuse
|
Syracuse left fielder Akke Derksen had a 3-RBI game, which helped his team beat the Sacramento Redlegs, 4-3. Goodluck Obasanjo picked up the win with 6 innings of work. He allowed 3 earned runs on 5 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 6. On the season, he is now 3-2. Tony Wolfe earned his 5th save in 6 tries.
Derksen contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Syracuse in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 3-1, Derksen took a fastball from Korbin Dallas and stroked the home run to left. His 5th home run of the season allowed the Starks to leap in front, 4-3.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Sacramento manager Marshall Edwards.
The Starks are now 9-18, while the Redlegs fall to 13-14.
