White Walkers Trip Battery in Extras
|
The Buffalo White Walkers beat the Charleston Battery, 8-4, at Charleston Armory. Buffalo second baseman Max Bortenschlager earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. The 8th-place Battery have lost 5 consecutive games.
Buffalo used the bat of Alexis Raimbault to get the win. The pinch hitter hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the 15th inning to put the White Walkers ahead, 8-4. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it did its damage.
"This team is on a mission," said Bortenschlager, who is one of the clubhouse leaders. "I like our focus."
