Starks Squelch Disaster Offense in Shutout Win
The Syracuse Starks trumped the Port Royal Disaster, 5-0, at Stark Stadium. Syracuse second baseman Atanza Vongor was named player of the game for his performance. He went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Syracuse bumps their record to 7-16 with the win.

Syracuse third baseman Damon Newbold contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball into left-center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 23rd hit of the season and put the Starks ahead, 1-0.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Vongor.
