Bloomington Makes It 7 Straight with 2-1 Win
Baton Rouge got a terrific performance from pitcher David Silva, but it wasn't enough to beat the Bloomington Longnecks. Bloomington won the Brass Field contest, 2-1. Silva was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 6 innings of shutout ball. The first-place Longnecks now have a 7-game winning streak.

Bloomington used the timely hitting of Bernalldo Corunha to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Longnecks on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"There's a lot of good karma around our club," said winning manager Coy Knight.
