The Virginia Beach Whales thumped the Lake Minnetonka Love Boats, 14-0, at Virginia Beach Grounds. Kawenaula Alohalani was a big reason his team got the win. Alohalani went 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4. Clint Kirk got the win, improving to 1-1. He worked 6.1 innings, giving up no runs on 3 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 1. With the loss, Lake Minnetonka falls to 4-5.

With Virginia Beach leading 5-0 in the bottom of the third, Alohalani came up to bat against Lake Minnetonka pitcher Jonathan Klein. Alohalani hit a changeup to right for a 3-run home run. His 6th home run of the season put the Whales on top, 8-0.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Alohalani.
