Browns Need Extra Frames to Get Past Patriots
The Boston Patriots got a superb performance from pitcher Nicky Bogdan, but the Cleveland Browns still won the game, 5-3. Bogdan was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 6 innings of shutout ball. Cleveland reliever Ryunosuke Kurota picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Ramón Ramírez shouldered the loss. Hermenegildo Beliago was credited with the save for Cleveland, his 1st of the season.

Cleveland used the bat of Roberto Vázquez to capture the win. The center fielder jacked a 2-run home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Browns ahead, 5-3. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a dandy.

"It was a good effort all around," said Vázquez.

The Browns' win now puts them at 16-26.
