Thunder Hawks Get One-Run Win at Atlantic City
|
The Atlantic City Sonics got a superb performance from center fielder August Force, but the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks still won the game, 8-7. Force was named the player of the game despite the loss. He was 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Ft. Polk South reliever Sean Kennedy picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Phil Britt absorbed the loss. With the loss, Atlantic City is 4-4.
It could have been a different outcome for Ft. Polk South, had it not been for Tora Tora, the 25-year old third baseman . Tora contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to put Ft. Polk South up, 8-5.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Tora.
