Warriors Turn Back Baton Rouge, 4-3
|
The Forest City Warriors picked up a win at League Park, knocking off the Baton Rouge Brass, 4-3. Starting pitcher Buzzy Grossman played a key role in the triumph. Grossman got the win, improving to 3-0. He allowed 8 hits and walked 1 over 6.1 innings. Grossman allowed 3 earned runs. The win brings the Warriors to 9-6, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
Forest City second baseman Tom Camden contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two down, he hit a fastball into left-center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 12th hit of the season and put the Warriors ahead, 4-0.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Camden told the Forest City Bulletin.
