Eclipse Shut Out Thunder
|
The Northville Eclipse picked up a win at Old-Timers Park, knocking off the St. Petersburg Thunder, 4-0. Starting pitcher Lance Farmer was an essential part of his team's success. Farmer, now 1-0, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 2, walking 2, and allowing no earned runs. Vasile Alexandrescu finished to wrap up his 1st save.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Vasile Alexandrescu didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 3rd and St. Petersburg trailing 2-0, Alexandrescu retired Kiyohira Kan to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Alexandrescu, with a wink.
Losses have been few and far between for the Thunder so far this season. Their record drops to 5-2.
