Forest City center fielder León Castillo had a 4-RBI game, which helped his team beat the Baton Rouge Brass, 7-5. Forest City reliever Dave Berry was the winner. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Fernando Nava. Picking up the save was Mariano Bueno, his 2nd.
Had Derek Healey not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Healey hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Warriors.
"This team is on a mission," said Castillo, who is one of the clubhouse leaders. "I like our focus."
The win brings the Warriors to 8-5, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
