Thrilling Walk-Off Win for Starks
The Syracuse Starks beat the Texas Bronze Sox, 6-4, at Stark Stadium. Syracuse catcher Pablo Álvarez earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 doubles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Syracuse reliever Christiaan Volkers picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. Wilson Valenzuela was collared with the loss. The win takes Syracuse to 2-9.

Álvarez had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the 12th. On a 3-1 fastball from Wilson Valenzuela, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Starks a 6-4 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Álvarez.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Álvarez.
