Nobles Get Road Win, 4-2
|
The Bakersfield Nobles topped the Syracuse Starks, 4-2, in USPL Triple A action at Stark Stadium. The player of the game was Bakersfield pitcher and Indi, India native Jaganmani Vivek. Vivek, now 1-0, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 1, walking 1, and allowing 2 earned runs. The Nobles, now 6-3, have played some good baseball in the early going.
The Nobles got a lift from second baseman Frank Ray who had a run-scoring ground out in the top of the fifth inning off Edmund Blackadder. It was his 7th RBI of the season and put Bakersfield in front, 3-2.
"We did a lot of things right," said Vivek.
