Redbirds Trip Starks in Extras

The Memphis Redbirds scored a 5-4 win versus the Syracuse Starks at Stark Stadium. Memphis pitcher Ainanani Iosepa nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. Memphis reliever Joe Gram picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Tony Wolfe shouldered the loss. Memphis has a record of 2-1.
Memphis used the timely hitting of Ed Roth to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Redbirds on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Roth.
