Nationals Lose, 5-2, at Asheville Park
|
Asheville rode a good effort from starter Geoffrey Washington to beat the Ottawa Nationals at Asheville Park. The final score was 5-2. The Highlanders raised their record to 1-1.
Had Cédric Causse not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Causse hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Highlanders.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Asheville manager William Franklin.
