The Providence Pilgrims bested the Barton Springs Blues, 6-4, at Blues Field. Ger Jobse was named player of the game. He went 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Umebayashi Naofumi picked up the save, his 1st. The loss lowers the Barton Springs record to 1-1.
Jobse came through with some timely hitting for Providence. With the score 3-2 in the top of the fifth and two down, Jobse hit a 0-2 fastball for a 2-run single. His 3rd hit of the season made it 5-2, Providence.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Jobse.
