Black Mambas Win at Pennsauken, 7-0
|
Right-hander Patrick Ibáñez mesmerized the Pennsauken Flyers while leading the Austin Black Mambas to a 7-0 victory. In 7 innings, Ibáñez surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. The Black Mambas bumped their record to 54-45 with this latest triumph.
Austin used the bat of Rich Watkins to capture the win. The right fielder jacked a grand slam home run in the top of the third inning to put the Black Mambas ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
In postgame comments to the Austin Observer, Watkins said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
