Great Day for Watkins in Black Mambas Win
The Austin Black Mambas beat the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds, 10-8, at Mamba Park. Austin right fielder Rich Watkins earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. The Black Mambas improve their record to 52-43 with the win over Ellenburg.

In the bottom of the 8th, second baseman Ramón Torres gave Austin the lead when he hit a 2-run double. The Black Mambas had been trailing 7-6, but the two-out double off Ellenburg pitcher Adam Durango changed that -- and Austin went on to win.

"The name of the game is scoring runs," Torres said. "We did a good job of that today."
