Victory Pushes Black Mambas Record to 42-29
|
Austin and Calgary duked it out at Mamba Park and the Black Mambas came out victorious.
Rich Watkins helped his team muscle past the Calgary Lynx, 7-5. In the game, the Austin right fielder went 3 for 4 with 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Patrick Ibáñez was the winner. Over 7.1 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 8 hits, with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts. Picking up the save was Bobby Roode, his 17th.
The Black Mambas got a big at-bat from center fielder Ned Lyons. For the game, Lyons was 3-5 with 2 doubles, while scoring 3 runs. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 4th double of the season gave Austin a 4-3 lead.
