Pride Nip Coyotes, 7-6
|
Despite a great performance by Hamilton designated hitter Alex Warner, the Hartford Pride defeated the Coyotes by the score of 7-6 at Coyote Wildlife Refuge. Warner was 2 for 2 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI. Reliever Luis Bruno picked up the win. His record improves to 2-1. Bobby Martin took the loss. Hamilton's current losing streak has reached 5 games.
Hartford used the timely hitting of César Gómes to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Pride on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Hartford manager William Smith.
