Monsters Sneak Past Flyers, 5-4
|
Monongahela designated hitter Alec Hall was a significant contributor in his team's 5-4 triumph over the Pennsauken Flyers. He was 3 for 5 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk for Monongahela. Horiuchi Tanaka picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-1. François Boyer was tagged with the loss. Monongahela is in 7th place in the Menard's AAA with a record of 28-31.
The game was all tied up in the top of the 13th, until Hall delivered big-time for Monongahela, stroking a dramatic run-scoring double off Bradley Leeder. The game-changing hit put the Monsters on top, 5-4.
"This is not a one-man show," said Hall. "A lot of the guys stepped up."
