The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids picked up a win at The Hollywood Bowl, knocking off the Hollywood Shredders, 7-5. Starting pitcher Shang-de Fu played a key role in the triumph. Fu got the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed 5 hits and walked 4 over 6.2 innings. Fu allowed 3 earned runs. Northern Virginia is now 13-16.

Northern Virginia relied on the hitting of Víctor Bojórquez to pick up the win. The third baseman ripped a bases-clearing triple in the top of the sixth inning to put the Rainbow Mermaids on top, 7-2. For the game, Bojórquez had 1 triple and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Fu said.
