Buzz Raise Rally Flag, Beat Hartford, 7-4
|
Salt Lake City and Hartford duked it out at Pride Park and the Buzz came out victorious.
The Salt Lake City Buzz grabbed a 7-4 win over the Hartford Pride at Pride Park. Salt Lake City first baseman Ernesto Rivera was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4 to earn player of the game honors. Chris Holmes picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Morris Prinkey was tagged with the loss. The save went to Bumper Pool, his 3rd this season.
The game was all tied up in the top of the eighth, until Rivera delivered big-time for Salt Lake City, stroking a dramatic 2-run double off Morris Prinkey. The game-changing hit put the Buzz on top, 6-4.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Rivera. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
The Pride, at 4-10, have stumbled out of the gate.
