Sunset District got a terrific performance from pitcher Nicholas Finn, but it wasn't enough to beat the Sioux Falls Red Pandas. Sioux Falls won the The Bamboo Forest contest, 3-2. Finn was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 6 innings of 5-hit ball. Sioux Falls reliever Brandon Hughes picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Nicholas Finn absorbed the loss. Darweshi Hadiya finished to wrap up his 2nd save.
Puck Schit was 1-3 with a triple for Sioux Falls. The 25-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Nicholas Finn. It was his 10th RBI of the season.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Sioux Falls manager Willis Crawford. "It's usually not just one thing."
The Red Pandas, now 6-3, have been playing some good baseball.
