Mockingbirds Bang Out 8-5 Win Versus Northern Virginia
The Mississippi Mockingbirds topped the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, 8-5, in United States Premier League action at Atlantica. The player of the game was Mississippi pitcher and Jerusalem, Israel native Zaki Fakhiri. The 6th-place Mockingbirds have won 4 in a row.

Mississippi used the bat of Vicente Gonzáles to get the win. The first baseman hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the third inning to put the Mockingbirds ahead, 5-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"We maximized our offense today," said Mississippi skipper Beau Carsten. "That makes everyone's life easier."
