Evergreens Pull Even With 4-1 Victory
|
The Portland Evergreens got a stellar performance from pitcher Robert Smalls, who handcuffed the Charleston offense en route to a 4-1 win at Evergreen Park. Smalls went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 7. His record improves to 1-4. Portland bumps their record to 12-12 with the win.
Tetsu Matsumoto took Melvin Tiburcio deep in the bottom of the fourth. His 2-run home run put the Evergreens on top, 2-0. In all, Matsumoto had 2 singles in addition to the home run, while going 3 for 4.
