Powell Helps Bowties Run Win Streak to 8
|
With first baseman Spencer Powell leading the charge, the Buckhead Bowties defeated the San Mateo Dirty Reds, 8-0, at 5 Paces Park. Powell, who finished 5th in the SL in doubles with 26 last year, was 4-4 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. Buckhead now has a 8-game win streak.
Powell put Buckhead up, 7-0, when he hit a 3-run home run off Anastasio Cabanillas Jr. in the bottom of the fourth. His 19th home run of the season helped the Bowties capture the win.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Buckhead manager Kerry Hofmeister.
