Dirty Reds Score Late, Upend Billy Goats, 6-5
|
The San Mateo Dirty Reds picked up a win at Lang Park, knocking off the Colorado Billy Goats, 6-5. Starting pitcher Anastasio Cabanillas Jr. played a key role in the triumph. San Mateo reliever Matt Digby was the winner. His record is now 4-2. The losing pitcher was Santiago Morán. The Dirty Reds saw their win-loss record go to 42-53. At the same time, the Billy Goats fell to 42-53.
San Mateo won the game in the bottom of the ninth inning. With two outs and Santiago Morán on the mound for Colorado, first baseman Zahid Kashani hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Dirty Reds fans to their feet.
"We found a way to get it done," Kashani said.
