Nieves Named Top Reliever for SR Tuesday, September 25th, 2040 Raśl Nieves said he thinks hitters often underestimate him, as he's only 18 years old. But he'll certainly be getting a lot more respect now, as the Twinsburg Tigers rising star has won the USSL Rookie Reliever of the Year Award for 2040. He captured the award on the strength of his 1.95 ERA over 74 innings. He also had 9 saves in 23 relief appearances, 77 strikeouts and only 33 walks. He received 10 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Roberto Morales of the Valley View Cougars finished second in voting, while Richard Tipton of the Montgomery Biscuits finished third.
