Liņares August's Best Bat Choice Saturday, September 1st, 2040 For a rookie just breaking in, Desi Liņares certainly put together a successful month. It was good enough to win the SR Batter of the Month award for August. The 18-year-old first baseman for the Ballard Beavers hit .352 with 5 home runs, 12 RBIs and 11 runs scored.
