Lostedt Superb Against Crowley
Thursday, August 2nd, 2040
There was no spell, no black magic -- just good pitching.
Jalmari Lostedt of the Long Island Ducks blanked the Crowley Cajuns, 4-0, at Titans Ballpark today, and he did it the old-fashioned way. After finishing the 4-hit, complete-game shutout, he was all smiles.
"I threw a lot of my pitches for strikes in this game," Lostedt said. "I mixed it up and tried keeping these guys off balance."
Lostedt walked 0 and struck out 11 in the victory.
"He was throwing his breaking ball for strikes and we never capitalized on any of his mistakes," Cajuns manager Manuel Romo said later.
On his stats sheet this season Lostedt shows a 6-2 record, 16 starts, 99 innings, 129 strikeouts and a 1.45 ERA.
